The Supreme Court correctly decided the Michigan higher education racial preferences case. The 6-2 decision reaffirmed two important principles:
Let voters decide these issues. There is no evidence that these voters in Michigan want to take minorities back to the 19th century or any other century. Also, my guess is that some minorities voted for the referendum, too. So let's respect voters.
Why should race be a factor in college admissions anyway? Are you telling me that minority kids can not survive in the real world without government programs?
The 6-2 decision included a dissent that confirmed why so many of us thought that Justice Sotomayor was a bad choice for The Supreme Court. Her long dissent was more of a "rant" than any outline of legal principles, as reported by The Washington Post:.............

A new wave of Islamophobia: where it comes from and how to stop it
John Rees 24 April 2014.

New major Islamophobic attacks demand a response from the anti-war movement, the left and anti-racists says John Rees

Tony Blair and Islamophobia
A little man sometimes casts a great shadow. Illustration by the late, much-missed cartoonist Leon Kuhn

A major, often government inspired, series of attacks on Muslims within a few weeks should put us all on alert. Let’s list them:

31 March: the BBC’s Panorama attacks the Muslim Mayor of Tower Hamlets, Lutfur Rahman.
1 April: David Cameron announces a major MI5 driven inquiry into whether the Muslim Brotherhood in the UK should be banned as a ‘terrorist organisation’.
15 April: after a hoax letter claiming that one Birmingham school is being influenced by ‘Islamicist’ ideas, Michael Gove sets up a full scale inquiry led by Peter Clarke, the former head of counter-terrorism at Scotland Yard.
20 April: William Shawcross, the hard right, neo-con head of the Charities Commission launches an investigation of Islamic subversion of charity organisations.
23 April: Tony Blair makes a widely reported speech demanding more international action against ‘Islamism’.
24 April: Guardian headlines ‘Stop your sons joining Syria war, urges Met’, part of an ongoing campaign that has seen former Guantanamo prisoner Moazzam Begg charged with terrorism offences.
In all but one of these cases, the attack by the BBC on Lutfur Rahman, these initiatives are driven from the heart of the state machine and are intimately connected with the ideology of the war on terror.

David Cameron ordered the inquiry into the Muslim Brotherhood and it is directly linked to the UK’s alliance with Saudi Arabia; indeed the head of the inquiry is going to be the current Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Sir John Jenkins. Saudi Arabia has long been critical to UK foreign policy. It is the largest purchaser of UK arms and has just completed a multi-million pound deal with BAe Systems. Saudi is also the organising centre of counter-revolution in the Middle East and the central backer of Field Marshall El Sisi, the leader of the coup in Egypt. Cameron’s inquiry into whether the Muslim Brotherhood should be banned as a terrorist organisation comes hot on the heels of the Saudi monarchy making exactly this same decision. The whole of El Sisi’s coup rests on his banning of the Muslim Brotherhood as a terrorist organisation. In fact the modern Egyptian Brotherhood’s history is predicated on its rejection of terrorist methods of struggle.

The arrest of Moazzam Begg is part revenge for the legal case that he won against the UK government for his wrongful imprisonment in Guantanamo and partly another episode in the government’s attempt to control the blow-back from Syria. The government spent months ramping up the support for rebels in Syria and preparing the ideological atmosphere for an attack on Assad’s regime. This project fell apart last year when the government lost the vote to attack Syria. They were left with a situation in which some British Muslims had taken seriously the government’s propaganda and gone to Syria for aid purposes or to fight with the now out-of-favour Islamic rebels. The security services are now in overdrive attempting to contain a problem of the government’s own creation.

This is the frame in which to understand the intervention of William Shawcross, the head of the Charities Commission. Shawcross is a neo-con supporter of the Iraq War who should never have been made head of the Charities Commission. He had to resign from the far-right Henry Jackson society in order to take up his new post. In a Guardian readers’ poll some 77 percent thought that Shawcross shouldn’t be head of the Charities Commission. It was always likely that he would use the post for political purposes. His outburst at the Islamic influence in Charities shows how little he understands, or wishes to understand, about the Muslim community. Charity is a massive part of most Muslim’s lives in the UK, certainly if they are at all observant. An attack on this front will be deeply disquieting and will further alienate this community from the political establishment in the UK.

The Michael Gove initiated investigation into Islamic influence in schools is one of the most serious attacks on Muslims to date. It will politicise and poison the atmosphere in schools in a wholly unacceptable manner.

The original complaint against Park View School in Alum Rock, Birmingham was bad enough. It came in a letter now widely acknowledged to be a hoax. It was only promoted by the baleful influence of establishment toady and Birmingham Labour MP, Khalid Mahmood. This then became an Ofsted investigation of 25 schools in Birmingham, and the accusations have spread to Bradford and Manchester. Then Gove appointed Peter Clarke, the former head of counter-terrorism to investigate, and report directly to him. The deliberate and provocative decision to turn a minor education tiff into a full-blown anti-terror investigation is one of the most outrageous examples of Islamophobia since the war on terror began.

Gove is himself a neo-con extremist. His book Celsius 7/7 is a sustained attack on the threat Islamism poses to the West, a defence of Israel and an attack on the left who have fought Islamophobia. It is given away free to every new member of the Conservative Friends of Israel.

But the man that he has appointed to investigate 25 Birmingham schools is the really representative figure in this sorry tale. Not only is Peter Clarke the former head of counter-terrorism, he is also a current member of the board of the Charities Commission under William Shawcross. More than this he is Senior Advisor to Kellogg, Brown and Root an offshoot of Dick Cheney’s notorious Halliburton Corporation that profited so extensively from the Iraq War. He is also a non-executive Director of Knightsbridge Guarding Ltd., which specialises in protection of banks and City institutions. He is part of the neo-con take over at the Charities Commission.

At the end of this litany of attacks on the Muslim community, all designed to re-enforce the idea that this is a suspect group riddled with terrorists, comes Tony Blair’s speech to Bloomberg news corporation tying the whole think together in his now trade mark Crusader pitch for a great war of civilisation against the Mohammedan hordes.

Two conclusions should be absolutely clear from these developments.

Firstly, Islamophobia remains very closely related to the war on terror and the ideologies developed to justify it. It is state and establishment driven to an unusual degree. Some on the left who are critical of the Stop the War Coalition’s argument have tried to move this debate elsewhere, claiming that Islamophobia predates the war on terror and is driven by the far right. Now, while it is true that some elements of Islamophobia existed before the war on terror, around the Rushdie affair for instance, there can be now doubt that these were qualitatively transformed from a minor thread in racist ideology to a dominant discourse by the war on terror. Before 9\11 racists used colour or country of origin as the dominant element in their account of what was wrong with ‘the other’. After 9\11 it was the Muslim religion and the connection with terrorism that has been the hugely dominant element. And to a far greater extent than previous waves of racism and chauvinism this has been continually and systematically driven right from the heart of the state machine.

Secondly, we now need to redouble our efforts to counter this new wave of Islamophobia. It can be done. Many Muslims in this country know exactly what the problem is and who causes it. The Stop the War movement has forged lasting ties with this community. It has correctly identified the cause of Islamophobia and integrated campaigning against it into the wider campaign to eradicate the war on terror from which it arose. It is time to renew that resistance.

Once a cobra was notorious and used to bite everybody that passed its tree. People were scared of the cobra and went to discuss the problem with a mystic saint. The saint said ' Fine , I will talk to the Cobra' So the saint went and spoke to Cobra how everybody now hated him because he bites people. The Cobra felt sorry and agreed that he would stop biting people. Soon the villagers saw the Cobra silent and beat it with sticks and stones and the Cobra was near death. The saint heard of this and went to see the Cobra who was badly beaten . Then the Cobra told the saint ' See, I stopped biting and look what your people have done they have nearly killed me' To which the saint replied ' I asked you to stop biting people but not stop HIZZING !!!! FROM THE CHIEF/NATIONAL COORDINATOR'S DESK

CLEARING THE AIR

In light of recent events pertaining to this august body, I am constrained to come out plainly and set the records straight.

A

National offices

The only recognizable offices adopted at the 30th November,2013 inaugural meeting in Abuja are;

=National coordinator and it's deputy
=National secretary and it's assistant
=National Publicity Secretary and it's deputy
=National Director of Organization and it's deputy
= National Mobilization Director and it's assistant
= National Treasurer and it's assistant
= National Financial Secretary and it's assistant
= National woman mobilizer and it's deputy
= Six geopolitical Zones Coordinators who are de facto assistant National Coordinators in the national executive
= National Director of public complaints( Ombudsman/Provost)
= All continental and Diaspora Coordinators
= Josla political ambassadors
= 6 ex officio 1 each from the zones
= All state coordinators

NOTE:
The above offices are to be duplicated in the Zones, states,Senatorial Zones and Local Government areas.

FURTHER NOTE:
No office was designated as NATIONAL CONVENER

B

JOSLA Facebook page

After November 30th last year, we decided to adopt the Facebook page of GOODLUCK JONATHAN,2015-2019 as our official page to use for dissemination of information and social media interactions.
This page was opened by Anthony Eromosele with his Facebook account.

In December he started misinterpreting this harmless gesture by going about and making utterances that he owned Josla and every other member was invited to " come and chop with him"
This attitude did not go down well with all the zonal coordinators and national officers including myself. We decided to abandoned his page and establish a page that bears our name. We jettison the idea when peace was brokered and he was warned to stop saying he owns a group with voluntary members which are not items or objects. Another condition for peace was that all national officers of josla having agreed to use his page must be made admins of the Facebook page which he grudgingly accepted

He stopped for a while but started again. We later discovered that his problem is psychological. Being a Tailor( euphemistically called fashion and designer) with a maximum secondary school education, he feels inferior and insecured in the midst of highly educated men and women that made up josla.
Despite my announcement that Zones and states are semi autonomous in certain respect and no national officer has the right to interfere in their affairs without express authorization, he started going round the states and asking them to give him loyalty as National Convener. He caused problems in delta state and they changed the name of the structure there. He caused problems in South West and have been pitching some officers against others there. All these complaints became too much and I called him to desist from them. He took offence and started saying that we must be answerable to him or we leave josla for him.

I reminded him that Josla was formally born in November last year. The person who suggested we should convene was not him but the erstwhile National Secretary Abubakar Baffa. I hosted the event with some assistant from the South South coordinator Marvin Omo-Osagie. If we really intended to print cards for the Abuja meeting, we would have used Baffa's name as convener or use the name of the key members calling for the meeting.
That is not all he has been doing. He comes to that page most often and would post policy statements that the national executive are not even aware of. He threatened some officers in the south west that he is the alpha and Omega of josla and he can remove anybody he wants. It is even rumoured that he exploited the naive ones financially.

NOTE: The Facebook page of Anthony Irabor is Goodluck Jonathan 2015-2019 and does not read Josla and ipso facto not the same thing as Josla. He has made it clear that the page is for people he called to come and "follow him chop" whatever that means.

ALSO NOTE; Josla as a body is not a Facebook affair but a body corporate and concrete with structures across the country and worldwide.

FURTHER NOTE; It was yours sincerely who christened the group JOSLA not anybody

STILL NOTE; Our certificate, addressed to me by Gulak the Presidential political adviser bears Josla not Goodluck Jonathan 2015-2019

CURRENT EVENTS

The zonal coordinators and the national exco took a decision to create josla official Facebook group and leave Tony's page for him. Hence we are here. He has removed the national officers as admins of his page and posted a very ridiculous post on his page that " The leadership of josla has dissolve the national and zonal executive" can you beat that? Is there a leadership above the official leadership of the group headed by my humble self.

Please, I have elected not to join issues with him because that would make it appear we have factions. We don't. All the zonal coordinators who constituted their state Excos are here. The national officers are here. Tony alone is not here.

DECISIONS

The president is making his formal declaration next month in port harcourt. All the heads and leaders of registered Pro-Jonathan group are to meet with Gulak next week for deliberation on how to mobilize to the venue of declaration. Once I receive the letter of participation which has been promised us, I will escalate it here for all to see.

Now that the whole thing is getting very interesting and about to be rewarding, the devil has decided to use somebody to sow discord in our group. We cannot allow that hence it is pertinent we take the following decisions:

** Anthony Eromosele Irabor is hereby suspended for anti-group activities pending such a time as the national exco is satisfied that he has sufficiently purged himself as to be re admitted back to the fold.

Based on the above, we shall appoint an acting Director of organization.

All the coordinators are to share this message on the various Facebook branches of Josla and ensure that their members come over to this group without prejudice to their voluntary rights to so do

Our Website which is being developed by our America Coordinator/Media consultant-Ralph Ralph Odua is almost ready.

Finally, it is apposite to point out that Josla is formed mainly to promote the reelection of President Jonathan and to realize that aim. In course of doing this, we hope to promote ourselves to national and rewarding political reckoning. If along the way we get other material and financial benefits, then we should give glory to God.

Thank you for taking time to read this. Please, assist in ignoring the typos and bad grammars..lol

So I was tagged by Shayne Hale in this article, and I feel it necessary to respond sense many guys have been spreading this across Facebook.

First of all I'm surprised you actually took the time to read this entire "article" and decided to tag me in it to let me know that you are just as ignorant as the man who wrote it. Most things that I post whether it be an article I found, something honest and lovely I wrote about you or our daughter. pictures/videos... You over look them. Your attention span is usually only long enough to care things that interest you, the fact that this douche bag caught your attention and your agreeing with it saddens me and leave me with no choice but to respond to all 50 of these sick "facts on men"

1. Your search history usually consists of cars with a little porn thrown in every once in a while. I guess this is considered normal for a man, but to look at it the same day that you ask and receive intimacy from Your girl is degrading. Porn is like cheating, if your going to look at another girl and pleasure yourself while thinking of yourself being with her, or even worse think of that whore while your with your girl, then in a way your cheating. (this is what girls think is going on in your sick little head.) Also Maybe if you treated your girl better you could get sex more often then you do and not have to resort to porn (as men use for an excuse)

2. we shouldn't have to try and change you. You should be a responsible grown up. But believe that We are going to nag at you to change in areas of your relationship where adjustments are needed. just be thankful that we care enough to make things work instead of just giving up.

3. When you check out other women, we understand that it's a "reflex" we check out other men, and even girls too sometimes. There is a point you shouldn't cross, its okay to glance but don't stare long enough to let your mind start fantasizing, especially in front of your girl.

4. You shouldn't have to choose between your friends or your girl, in fact they should get along and be Friends too. If your girl goes to great lengths to make you decide between her or your buddies then she probably has a good reason... If not then she's just a bitch, sorry about your luck.

5. This one I agree with, but it goes for both men and women. It is natural to want to vent to your significant other, but be sensitive as to how you express criticism about his/her family. Regardless of whether or not he/she agrees with you, they are likely to respond defensively. By criticizing your partners family, you are indirectly criticizing your partner or at least, the environment in which he/she was raised.

6. Letting shit go.... we forgive but we don't forget.

7. We all have history, men and women. Some of us have more than others. We all ask questions about things we aren't even sure we really want the answer to. Were human, curious minds want to know. We just have to remember that Everything happens for a reason, and where we are now and who we are is a Result of our pasts. We take one another with the good and the bad.

8. This Shouldn't be applied to just women, a lot of men come home with things to talk about also. You are suppose to care about how each others day went. Sometimes we can't wait to get home and talk about what's been bugging us all day. Get it out of the way, then enjoy the rest of your day. Plus by listening and responding we are making good conversation.

9. Withholding sex is a dangerous game? First of all let's figure out the reason your girl isn't giving you sex.... Are you being an ass hole? Chance are she isn't attracted to assholes, that's more of a guy thing. You have to remember that most girls can't just turn it on and off as quickly as men do. We don't wake up wet, or see someone attractive and instantly think about sex. We need to be turned on by you, so show us some interest and intimacy, maybe even a little foreplay to get us started, then maybe you can have sex. Secondly, your partner not giving up sex as often as you want it results in you cheating?! Then your just a pig and you didn't deserve them anyways!

10. If your jealous of all your girls straight guy friends, don't be ashamed chances are no matter how double standard it may be, your girl wouldn't even let you have straight girl friends, and if you did she will be keeping a tight leash on that one. Your girl should make sure you are both friends with the guy, and try to keep in mind that most girls aren't interested in their guy friends, and their friends probably already know where they stand.

11. Anal, of course this is added to the list. If your girl doesn't try it go ahead, you can try and convince her.... but don't get freaked out when she asks to try it on you first. If your girl has let you try it and she didn't like it, don't be greedy by keep asking to try it again. Also don't be a dick and try to slip it in during sex either!

12. He wants to bang your friends... Well I personally don't have this problem considering most of my close friends are guys, but if you are a man and this is true to you, then your a douche bag. Would you want your girl to think of your guy friends in this way, I very much doubt that. Also they are her friends, don't go ruining her relationships with him because you feel the need to think with the wrong head. Our men want to bang 90% of the girls they see? That's just disgusting. It's one thing to think someone is attractive but wanting to be intimate with every girl.... It's only sex it should only be done with people you actually have feelings for, but let's be real most people don't think that way, if you want to bang every person you see... Your a hoe.

13. Women should learn to play pool, because it's hot? Okay if you truly feel that way then teach your girl to play, and be cute about it.... Teach her like the guy teaches the girl in the movies. She will enjoy the learning more.

14. He wants you to seduce him...? Okay that can be arranged. She wants you to seduce her too, but be sensual about it. Don't just tell her that your horny we have to be turned on too.

15. I agree women should wear the jewelry that her man buys for her. First men, you need to make sure your girl even likes jewelry before you go spending money on it and then getting your feelings hurt because she doesn't wear it. I know plenty of girls who don't like jewelry. Me... I love jewelry, I would wear it all, if my man ever bought me any!

16. He wants you to need him... Believe me when we need your help to open a jar or fix something in the house, we will ask for it. But why not start feeling that passionate about wanting to help out with the chores or the kids when we need you.

17. Watching our weight.... Yeah we sometimes get to comfortable being with a person that we don't worry as much about what we eat or how much we work out. That's the joy we get being with someone who loves us no matter what, not having to worry so much about the stereotypical aspects of life around us. I agree there is a point we should not reach of letting ourselves go... But if that happens, be gentle with you approach of getting back to attractive. Chances are you both got too comfortable so work together to be back to where u once were.

18. If you have been living together longer then three years you both consider yourself pretty much already married. That doesn't mean she doesn't deserve a ring to show, or a wedding she has always dreamed of. Your relationship still needs that actual commitment. If you have kids together, and marriage is something you both want, then do it. Don't erase that possibility just because you have been together for a long time already... That means it's time!

19. If ultimatums do not work, then you better start putting forth equal effort in your relationship as a partner and or parent.

20. Regress of if or when you want kids... If it happens you better man up and take care of your children.

21. You know when were lying just as we know when your lying.... The only difference is that your bad at it. Stop beating around the bush! your partner shouldn't feel the need to tell lies, you both should be an open book, up front, and honest with everything. This will be a result if you allow your significant other to feel comfortable enough with telling you the truth.

22. If you want us to be interested in what you like, and what you like to do, then you have to be interested in what we like and what we want to do. Everything in a relationship has to go two ways. Treat others how you want to be treated. But it gets annoying when all you talk about everyday is your car and complain about what you don't have and what you want. Enjoy your life with who and what's in it...Stop being so negative your bringing me down.

23. When it comes to getting ready everyday, you don't understand our struggle... Its tough being a female. Girls get indecisive and sometimes need an opinion from the man who likes her best. Guys, you need to stop acting like you don't ever ask for opinions on your outfits, because you know that you do.

24. When it comes to shoes, a majority of guys I know have a bigger obsession then girls.

25. We do take your side, we will always have your back. Unless it's a one on one debate or if it's a subject that we feel strongly about. If we ever do embarrass you by taking sides against you in public, it most likely wasn't intentional and we apologize.

26. This is the most intelligent thing I have read in this article yet. Women like when a man shows interest in growing as a person. we also like to learn new things... so share your educational and life experiences, help us to be more Mature and smarter then we already are.

27. When a woman expects you to make a decision for her, it's a test to see how much you Pay attention, and how well u actually know her.

28. It's only hair, it will grow back. It's ultimately her decision to do what she wants with her hair. You should like her regardless, and If you don't, your shallow.

29. I personally like this one, the fact that our men actually want us around especially when we go out makes us feel like a trophy. If your girl doesn't feel the same way, maybe there a problem u should address with her individually.

30. Girls almost always sound like they are flirting, but trust me, in our minds, we aren't actually trying to flirt. So if catch this happening then their intentions are most likely innocent. Unless your having problems in your relationship and the flirting goes over bored, then start worrying. Btw same goes for you guys..... Don't flirt with other girls around us. Unless you want drama queen to come out, and if your in public you will most likely get embarrassed.

31. As a couple we should both inspire and support one another with all of our hopes and dreams.

32. Yes we know, what ever we want in bed you will do it because your mind is almost constantly X rated.

33. Most women are good at helping their men out by listening and taking some burden off their shoulders if it's possible. It isn't often that you talk about your feelings so when you do we take it all in.

34. I can agree with this one, I always save you a big plate of food. You like to eat and sense your so skinny you can put it away.. Here have two I'm tired of hearing how you need to gain weight when I want to loose. Woman this one isn't to much to ask for, a mans gotta eat.

35. Most women are probably guilty of emasculating their man at least once. Yes we know this hurts your feelings and you will probably resent us for if.... But what ever you said to her before she responded in that direction, probably made her P.Oed enough to throw a low blow.

36. It's a personal choice whether or not you want to know and live with the brain throbbing images that get placed into your head after asking about your girls sexual past. Whether it be a small number and nothing major or you find out your girl was a total ratchet, it's going to ache your heart even a little to hear about your love being with someone else. This goes for us hearing about your experiences too... but its hard to not be curious.

37. We are all gonna make sure what we have now is better then what we once had. So if it hasn't been better yet, start creating some really amazing memories to put your now relationship at the top of your list.

38. Once a cheater always a cheater. If we have been hurt before don't get upset about the wall we put up to protect ourselves, try your best to brake it down and prove yourself to be faithful and committed.

39. This one makes me laugh, men stop acting like the reason you don't open doors for your girl is because she doesn't want you to! Maybe in the beginning of a new relationship, some women act bashful and tell you that it's okay to let her do things for herself, but now that this relationship is serious.... Start doing more gentlemen like shit for us!

40. In a relationship it's both partners responsibility to keep things in check and make sure he/she is doing the right thing.... gotta have each-others back!

41. We all want to be winners! No poor sports and no bitterness. Women, if your man that big of a whiner then I guess just pretend he won.... It's not that big of a sacrifice.

42. This might be one of the most ignorant things written on this list. If you watch a chick flick with your girl you don't deserve a blow job, anal, or a threesome afterwords. She watches your action movies too. In relationships we take turns to make each other happy. If you really can't stand it, then come to a compromise, we all love comedies.

43. Threesomes is a very biased subject. Men we know you fantasize about having one with your girl and a hot friend. If your partner agrees to this then consider yourself lucky. Most girls are not going to agree to this Scenario because then she will feel like you are interested in the other chick, this is a disaster for your relationship. If you must not let go of the threesome idea then let her pick the person. Ohh she picked a dude? Not so fond of the idea proposal now are you...? Exactly!

44. Yes we all need quiet time. So men you also need to Learn to shut the fuck up! (Trying to act like because your a man you don't ramble on about things we could care less about)

45. Compliments are nice. We all need them, want them, and deserve them. I agree 100% but if your going to throw this one in the list requesting compliments from your girl, make sure you are returning that favor.

46. Nobody should have to lie just so the other person can be right. This goes right along with number 26, teaching you new things. I agree that everyone's opinions should be validated, were all entitled to one.

47. I can agree with this one also, but this goes for both women and men. You should dress up just the same whether your going out with friends or each other. We like for you to see us all dolled up, and we like to see you all spiffy. Your handsome to us regardless, but it's nice to put a spotlight on it so others can see what we have.

48. Yes we understand that you aren't our dad, and that we are not your princess. We want and deserve to your queen! Especially those of us who cater to our men, even when they act like a tool bag.

49. We don't want to be your mother. We pick up after you because you are a slob, and obviously if we don't clean up, everything is going to stay a mess. It shouldn't be that difficult if you have trash, throw it away, if you dirty dishes put them in the sink and wash them, if you leave your hair in the sink, clean it up after your done shaving or cutting your hair. If the laundry is over flowing, wash and dry them, and help fold and them away after. You aren't a little kid anymore, you shouldn't need a chore chart, or to be reminded that your suppose to pick up after yourself. If your not doing your part then you have some growing up to do.

50. This is true to an extent, girls are more complicated... But this is only because most men don't take the time to try and figure us out. We don't ask for you to be an expert on women, but at least try and understand enough to meet our necessary needs. Also realize that us women have it a lot harder then men do for lots of obvious reasons that I don't want to list but because I know some douche bag will wonder what makes this statement true, I'll add a few of the important ones. For instance trying to stay pretty for you, spending money on clothes, hair, nails and makeup, yes we realize some men do the same so don't get all defensive just yet, because you will never have to worry about having a monthly cycle. This leaves us with stomach cramps, mood swings, and bleeding. Of course the biggest one is growing children inside of our bodies. Watching our bodies transform and often times ruining them and having all the responsibility of keeping your baby healthy and alive, not to mention the painful birthing experience that you men would never be able to accomplish. So as a result, men should show us more appreciation then we receive.

Share the truth educate there so many who do not know SHARE!
SINCE 1974 THE GOVERNMENT HAVE KNOWN THAT THE CHEMICALS FOUND IN THE CANNABIS PLANT CAN BE USED TO TREAT CANCER!!!
PLEASE LOOK BELOW FOR A LOT OF REVIEWED STUDIES FROM AROUND THE GLOBE WHICH CONFIRM THESE FINDINGS!!!
These same chemicals can have a unique effect on each vital organ, homeostatically and holistically aiding them in their roles. This includes the kidneys and the nephrological system.
Many scientific studies have reported that various cannabinoids (both natural and synthetic) exert a wide range of growth-inhibiting effects on cancer cells, including:
- Triggering cell death, through a mechanism called apoptosis.
- Stopping cells from dividing.
- Preventing new blood vessels from growing into tumours –a process termed angiogenesis.
- Reducing the chances of cancer cells to metastasize through the body, by stopping cells from moving or invading neighbouring tissue.
- Speeding up the cell’s internal ‘waste disposal machine’ –a process known as autophagy – which can lead to cell death.

New studies show that smoked Marijuana does not cause any forms of lung cancer, and that the THC in Marijuana is anti-cancerous and has the potential to cure cancer...

1,500 Americans die every day from cancer.

http://lmgtfy.com/?q=THC+cures+cancer

"The active ingredient in marijuana cuts tumor growth in common lung cancer in half and significantly reduces the ability of the cancer to spread." - Harvard University

"The potential benefits of medicinal Cannabis for people living with cancer include antiemetic effects, appetite stimulation, pain relief, and improved sleep. In the practice of integrative oncology, the health care provider may recommend medicinal Cannabis not only for symptom management but also for its possible direct antitumor effect." - National Cancer Institute

Marijuana cures cancer -- US government has known since 1974:
The Federal Government of the United States has funded several studies on Cannabis and the active components in Marijuana, which have repeatedly discovered Cannabis' Anti-Tumor properties. A couple of these studies include one conducted in the early 1970's showing a reduction in the spread of various cancers injected into lab rats. In 2006 a study aiming to find the link between Marijuana smoking and cancer concluded that there is no evidence of any kind of causal link between the two, with even some suggestion of preventive qualities.

New research shows that marijuana components fight an aggressive form of brain cancer. And the media says -- nothing, again. Combining the two most common cannabinoid compounds in Cannabis may boost the effectiveness of treatments to inhibit the growth of brain cancer cells and increase the number of brain cancer cells that die off. That's the finding of a new study published in the latest issue of the journal Molecular Cancer Therapeutics. Marijuana components have been found to inhibit the growth of the most common, and aggressive form of brain tumor, a glioblastoma, according to a study published in the January 6 issue of Molecular Cancer Therapeutics. The study was done at the California Pacific Medical Center by researchers who combined a non-psychoactive ingredient of marijauna, cannabidiol (CBD), with Δ9-tetrahyrdocannabinol (Δ9-THC), the primary psychoactive ingredient in Cannabis. The findings demonstrated the inhibitory effect of these two ingredients on brain cancer cells when used together.

So I see all these post about bad parking.... so I thought I would post about the driving. Why is it that Florida drivers do not use turn signals? Do they not teach that in drivers education class? It is a simple thing, little lever on the left side of the steering wheel not even 6 inches from the hands. Would be surprised how that little light that blinks to tell others what the intention of the driver is would do to the flow of traffic and reduce car accidents.
Now having the opportunity to drive in many large cities throughout the country Florida by far has some of the worst. Some drivers with Florida plates are so inconsiderate. Never know the positive response that might happen. Some people just might let you go in front and make room for you to go where you need.

Waah Waah Waah that was a long ranting session. Where are you from? I see more inconsiderate out of state drivers than Florida drivers. If you move here permanently you are required to get your vehicle registered in Florida. So maybe that is why. Go complain to someone/somewhere else.

He's right. Always wondered that myself
Barbara Preece Brown commented at Apr 23, 2014 4:55:28 PM
You are so right ! The second thing on my list is the fact that the law here says "wipers on -lights on" ! Many times in pouring rain I have counted 9 out of 10 drivers with no lights on. They are sometimes dark cars and impossible to see until you come right up on them ! I so wish for all of our safety that the police department does one of it's blitz ticket things on these issues. I learned to drive in DC and wonder what would happen to these drivers when they got to a big city. I bet they cause trouble and don't even realize it. Ravinder you hit a nerve with me. Maybe we can DO something. Email police ,sheriff, city, county or ???? Ideas ?

I completely agree, we moved here from a large city in MI a few months ago and FL drivers are worse by a long shot! Especially on 75 and Fruitville Road.
Robb Huhn commented at Apr 23, 2014 4:57:09 PM
or heres a thought? STAY OUT OF FLORIDA... its people like you who are causing the accidents because you dont know where your going. its bad enough dealing with elderly driver that shouldn't be driving, but the six months out of the year dealing with the out of state idiots doesnt make things better... dont like it? good TAKE THE BUS
Brian Woody commented at Apr 23, 2014 4:59:56 PM
shows just how stupid people are when they think it is a Florida thing about turn signals. Every state I have been in it is the same thing with people not using them. It is a people thing not a place thing.

Do you realize that most FL drivers aren't originally from FL???
Lisa Lonsbury Ellen commented at Apr 23, 2014 5:05:26 PM
All I can say being a native Floridian is go to Michigan the Detroit area. Have fun being on the interstate or even common roads with others going 90 mph & just moving into your lane while ice on roads. They certainly don't use turn signals when they cut you off. They certainly don't leave 2 car lengths between vehicles. Yes it can be a pain when they don't use turn signals here but bottom line if you're leaving enough space in front of you then it should not be a safety issue.

First of all Rob, we do know where we are going. We are not new to the state, my husband lived on both coasts for many years. FL driving laws, and the 3 lanes, and u-turns are not new for us. I agree with what you said about the elderly being on the road, being to cautious or driving to slow can also be hazardous. My frustrations come from people who try to speed up to get through the intersection before the light changes red. Or when road construction signs CLEARLY state merge and try to pass all the cars who have gotten over and push there way in. And the above people who don't use a turning signal. Every state has bad drivers, that's inevitable, I'm just saying I see more down here than up north.
Janice Florance commented at Apr 23, 2014 5:11:53 PM
& guess where most of these people moved here from?
Susan Russell Smith commented at Apr 23, 2014 5:12:54 PM
Florida does not require driver's ed classes. In fact, insurance agencies do not give discounts in Florida for taking classes. I've lived in a lot of states and this is by far the worse when it comes to inconsiderate driving. No surprise that my insurance tripled when I moved back here.
Debra Ross commented at Apr 23, 2014 5:13:22 PM
I am sooooooooooooooooooo with you Ravinder Vaswani. they cannotttttttttttt drive to save their souls here.!!!! don't have a clue as to what the LEFT lane is for!!!! don't have a clue.. TO MOVE THE HELL OVER FROM THE RIGHT LANE, WHEN YOU SEE SOMEONE TRYING TO GET OUT ON THE ROAD.. they just go at their own pace,, and do what they want.. I am from Jersey.. WE know how to drive.. the speed limit!!!! stay in the right damn lane unless you are DOING the speed limit.. or passing.. !!!! I D I O T S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..
Rachel Davidson commented at Apr 23, 2014 5:16:13 PM
Maybe their turn signal is broke. My left driver one is and I bought a new bulb and it still doesn't work I have not had time to go get it looked at and I still turn it on. It's a habit. I feel really bad when people are waiting to see were I am going so if possible I put my hand out the window.

Thinking about giving up? Wanting to make excuses as to why you are no longer going to push yourself anymore?

Student poet Diolu Tobechukwu isn't hearing any of that.

In fact, in his latest poem, "The Mighty Rises," he explains why when you want to give up, it means it is time to push harder.

His introduction:

"Steve Jobs was born poor with no education, but in spite of all odds, he lived his dreams. Nick Vudicic was born without limbs, but in spite of all odds, he's living his dream. Mary Kay Ash was born in to poverty, with no funds for education, but in spite of all odds, she lived her dream, explored her creative instincts, and never stopped trying. Folu Ayeni, Nelson Mandela, Oprah Winfrey, Bill Gates, Paula White...the list is endless. We should quit playing the blame game: bad childhood, bad government, bad teachers, bad friends, bad parents, bad past, mistakes, bad wife/husbands, etc. Instead, we should pick it up, take responsibility, forgive freely, and move on. It's never too late. Let your dreams inspire purpose, let your purpose bring about hope, and hope bring about joy, which brings about fulfillment.
You can be mighty again."

Amen.

Read his inspirational poem here. With youth such as this, our future is bright, Africa!!!

By State Rep Gus Blackwell

There is an old saying that says “there is more than one way to skin a cat.” In politics, there is more than one way to get a bad idea through the legislative gauntlet. One way is to hide the true intent of the bill.
SB 573 is touted as an education bill that simply gives children a “choice” for education. It would allow charter schools to be established in any community statewide, even in rural areas.
To do this the bill would first set up a statewide charter school commission that would oversee the establishment of charter schools with a preference given to those serving at risk populations or areas with low performing schools.
It would also close down all charter schools scoring in the bottom 15% of districts based on academic performance. That is unless they are primarily serving dropouts or English-as-a-second language learners and then they are exempt. Of course, many in the rural areas would qualify as these types of schools. That is called a loophole.
Those wanting this change state that the state charter school commission is needed to attract those national charter school entities to Oklahoma to start these schools. It is also needed to make sure as the Daily Oklahoman puts it, “that local politics don’t needlessly impede children’s educational opportunities.”
So a locally elected School Board which is responsible to local citizens is bypassed in the process. No need to subject such a lofty ideal as charter schools to something as mundane as local control.
A charter school is totally funded by public funds on a per pupil basis. Therefore, an increase in charter schools diminishes the amount of money that is available to public schools, including rural public schools.
Every public school in my district except one has less than 350 students from kindergarten to 12th grade. Starting charter schools in these districts would not substantially increase choice. It would however, drastically reduce resources for these local rural schools. Imagine cutting everything in your school in half.
Charter schools are now limited to districts that have almost a 50% dropout rate. This bill would move charter schools to areas that have less than a 5% dropout rate. Although Charter Schools are technically public schools, they operate without several of the mandates that regular public schools operate under.
Some charter schools do great work in very underprivileged areas. However, about half of the charter schools in the state are also failing schools. This is simply a blatant money grab and an attempt to end public education in rural areas by those pushing this bill.
The slow siphoning of funds by a charter school would in the long run sound the death knell of a public school in the communities of this district. Because of significant resistance in the House the bill has been pulled from the agenda to make several changes.
I will vote against this bill and any attempt to diminish the funding of our rural schools. Hopefully, the bill will not even be heard on the floor.

So...what it sounds like to me...is that there's some weird kinda ranchy ratchet competition going on under the surface....that folks are low key getting caught up in over this lady's sextape...I mean all the convo I'm hearing is trying to justify her porno by saying Kim did it and she blew up...Like there's some, who can be most ratchet, competition going on out there...Sistas is out on the streets trying to make Mimi out to be like Madam CJ Walker...(1st female self made millionaire)

First off....shes not Kim Kardashian ..KK did not do a well produced porno flick...She was a daughter of a famed lawyer...who had sex with a known celeb(Ray J). Ray banging a supa fly non black chick wit ass...was more of the lure and excitement around that tape...that's what generated the publicity...When you discovered that the chick in the tape wasn't just some random ass club chick...it created headlines...It was a hand held janky shakey cam..bad lighting...and totally not produced... But what blew it up was more about Ray-J(a actual celeb) initially...Kimmy Cakes was offered $500 grand for the rights..and it mainstreamed her...along with her dating a ton of super famous athletes...

Mimi is not in the shower rod business btw....Now yes..super strength shower rod companies may be making money..but she's not linked in...She's going to make a lil cash off her tape..yes..but ...now she's a porn star...and we all know what happens to porn stars..they burn out..This is her 5 minutes...So all you fans out there saying shes brilliant ..for making a porno...I don't get your logic..Now if she would have invested in a shower rod company b4 hand and had them ready to be shipped...then perhaps I could give her credit for having foresight...But as it stands...no one will be talking bout her next year...I watch tons of porn and frankly..after I rub one out...I totally forget what the chick even looks like...Sorry..but it's the truth.

Shes not a symbol of female empowerment(like some of yall trying to make her out to be..like a folk hood hero)....and she not going to blow up like Kim.....It's a one trick pony ,lowest denominator, publicity stunt...What I'm hoping is that this don't inspire another generation of young sistas to make porno..rather than getting an education..

My first thought was to comment we are giving this woman way too much attention. However we are not giving enough attention to this issue. I was a not a huge fan of the show but when I did catch an episode I use to favor Mimi. She represented as close as class could get on a reality tv show. Something in her was not good enough for her to degrade herself as a women, a mom, a role model, girlfriend and more that she decided to make her private sex life public and up for sale. To be honest I think a lot of women if presented the opportunity to do so would. But why is the question? Why are our women feeling the need to exploits what is private? Sex is a bond between a man and a woman. It's an intense intimacy where to people become equally one. It doesn't need to be televised. So why are women selling their precious moments now?? Idk I could be wrong but I think this sex tape is bigger than a few dollars. Sista got some self esteem issues along with a few others!
Yohance Serrant commented at Apr 23, 2014 6:29:22 AM
Mimi is what a lot of women admire in her demeanor. It's the Beyonce Factor. She's classy in one dimension, then freaky in another. And she just made her $. She is what a lot of women want to be. And regardless of anything else, lotta girls like her new guy. So, she has a fanbase and the trailer just helped. And we're talking about her, which is making more people interested. Mind you, a lot of women hate Stevie J and would love to do what she did as revenge on an ex. She won.

Priscilla A. Walker commented at Apr 23, 2014 11:05:22 AM
Totally agree with your post Shonathen. And I'm so glad you addressed the elephant in the room... I hate to hear people comparing her (and others, like that Fishburne girl) to Kim K and her come up. Not only are they in two different lanes, they are in two different parts of the city. She will never be on Kim's level... #SorryNotSorry
And I also agree with Kass, because while she is making money (which I'm hoping will benefit their mutual child more than anything between the education and therapy she will need after this stunt) I'm sure Stevie J is still laughing at her more than anything else. He knows he can still hit that if he wants to, so what kind of revenge is she really getting??

Gov. Brownback had an opportunity to prove education was his top priority by vetoing the special interest school funding bill his fellow far-right Republicans rammed through the Kansas Legislature. Instead he predictably put his true top priority - his own personal political agenda - before doing what's best for Kansas students, teachers, and schools.
Eagle editorial: Bad bill now bad law | Wichita Eagle

Gov. Sam Brownback predictably signed the school-finance bill on Monday afternoon, focusing on its virtues instead of acknowledging that its flaws justified a veto – and another try during the Legislature’s wrap-up session.

I graduated 25 years ago when the first round of corporate dentistry was taking off, along with the newly invented HMO capitation and every dentist thought the sky was falling.

Every single one of the first round went down like the Titanic including the invincible and unstoppable Orthodontic Centers of America, which was the only one traded on the New York Stock Exchange.

But in the field patients weren't happy. They couldn't chose their dentist. They felt like they were in a factory. Now, 25 years later it's round two and all the same. Now the insurance bad guy is the Affordable Healthcare Act where once again, every American dreams they will all get something for free.

I have been in several cities this month and every dentist I talk to is feeding off new patients from the corporate dental chains from unhappy patients who felt they were in a mill, saw a different dentist every time they went in and were always trying to be "sold" stuff like a used car salesman.

I guarantee you that the dentist who develops him or herself with several 100 hours of continuing education per year, attracts and retains quality long term staff, has a first in class business office manger, will build the best dental office in town.

Dentistry is all hands on personal surgery, unlike Walgreens and CVC. The only advantage corporate dentistry has is access to capital. Buying supplies and equipment in volume is not the competitive advantage like it is in pharmacy. Negotiating with dental insurance companies is only a single digit advantage at most. The only advantage any dental office can have is the dentist and the team of people he or she attracts, develops and retains for long periods of time. Dentistry is a people play. Develop the Dentist CEO and develop the entire team and this dental game will be yours to win!

I'm sorry I don't use social media, and I understand my chances of you actually reading this are slim to none because of it, I must try anyway. You have an incredible relationship with words that is truly awe inspiring. I have to sit with a dictionary close if I'm gonna crack one of your juicy novels open. ( I fuckin love that by the way) You entertain me, you educate me, and oh my god I've been married for 14 years and with my husband for 24, but you turn me on with your words more than he will ever be able to with his hands, tongue, or Lingam. ;-) Just finished Decadence, and I'm almost in tears because it's over. My mom died last year. I also have a 2 year old son I care for, along with 12 year old twins. It was hard for a while to read with the changes in my life. Getting snug with another EJD Classic was just what I needed. You feel like an old friend who never lets me down, and always makes me smile. I have all but two of your books, and I'm in no rush to get them cause once I read them I'll be waiting for your new releases. I know you have stuff you will never publish, I wish I could read those. Heaven pure heaven that would be. To know alternate endings you might have changed or the precious words the editors or publishers (those devils)make you skim to make your books shorter. To be able to read that stuff would be heaven. Sorry I don't mean to ramble just things I'd like you to know. I think I'm gonna go back and re-read the Gideon series. The way you were throwing hints in your epilogue made me crazy with anticipation. I thought I saw him with Lola Mack when Nia walked past her and mrs. jones with their lovers. But I know damn well Nia Simone Bijou would have noticed a specimen like Gideon. I'll be 40 in July and when I take my cruise, I think I'll read the ones calling me. Problem is I only want to read your work. I love it when you mention the east west connector, or what used to be Borders, near lowes. The silver comet trail, Cumberland blvd. I live around there. I feel as if I have been to all the places you describe in your books. I truly feel as if I've been abroad through you. I also love, love, love when you throw characters in books from other EJD novels. I always scream and get so happy. My family thinks I'm nuts.(too bad none of them can enjoy) Thank you that is an awesome treat for your true fans. Ok again sorry I know you have real stuff to read or locations to research, and can't be bothered with some housewife fan. I just want you to know you make a huge difference in my life, I will continue to share your books with the worthy. Keep writing and try not to judge someone like me too harshly for any mistakes I've made in this long ass e-mail. I have found a mistake or two of yours mr.

Sincerely
Taya

Allah creates the children with pure innate nature, without defects and whatever defects that happens later on is the result of the bad education. Imams Bukhari and Muslim reported that the prophet (S.A.W.) said, "Every new born has the correct instinct, his parents make him Jewish, Christian or a fire worshipper." ...........>>>>>>>>>>>> READ MORE ....>>>>>>

“Simulations in Vision Rehabilitation: The Good the Bad and the Ugly"

Abstract:

The various applications of simulations in vision rehabilitation are reviewed. Simulating impaired vision for professional training and for patient family/caretaker education has been applied using image processing as well as with optical devices that when worn are expected to give the user the impaired vision experience. The same techniques have been applied to illustration and preliminary testing of vision rehabilitation devices. While simulating loss of resolution/acuity is reasonably achievable with both imaging and head worn optical devices, the simulation of the impact of field loss of all kinds and of the effect of rehabilitation devices for field loss is particularly difficult with either technique. It is difficult to represent a non-seen portion of scenes, challenging to represent dynamic vision with single static image, and not possible to impose realistic (eye bound) visual field restriction in spectacle or goggles or even with contact lenses. This presentation will address the sources of this difficulty and will present numerous errors in simulating visual field loss and limitation effects, some with serious consequences. The source of the errors will be identified and better simulations that overcome the limitation will be introduced. General rules to avoid generating of incorrect simulations are presented.

All are welcome to attend. One hour of Mass CE credit will be awarded. Please join us for a wine and cheese reception following the lecture in Conference Room 1.
