Today's Testimony is from Cindy Y encouraging other mature mamas - health and trim are possible!!!!!

"I have been writing this in my head for weeks and weeks, counting the days until July 22. My 1 year Trimmiversary post.

I thought I was gonna go to my grave a chubby old memere. One year ago I was 3 weeks shy of my 60th birthday and I felt hopeless, helpless. Post menopausal for over 10 years, nearly 50# overweight, Married for nearly 43 years with 5 children and several grandchildren,

I thought my weight loss days were over. I had already run the gamut of diets and exercise programs. Gym memberships, Ayds appetite suppressant candy (1970's), Slim Fast, calorie counting, Atkins, low fat, no fat (Susan Powters), Richard Simmons, Jane Fonda workout videos, Point counting, Weigh Down….I could go on and on. Some worked temporarily, but eventually the weight crept back on as the plans were impossible to commit to long term. For the previous 3 years or so I had been on a "real food" journey. Weston Price became a household name and Nourishing Traditions was becoming a way of life. Raw milk, grass fed beef, fermented cod liver oil (can anybody say "yuck"?), homemade sourdough breads, etc. Yet with all that "real food" came "real fat"….and it was accumulating all over my 5' frame.

Then a year ago last week a dear young friend of mine suggested Trim Healthy Mama. I did some Googling research and thought maybe this was something I could do. Our oldest daughter ordered a used copy off Amazon for my birthday present and the journey began one year ago today.

The weight dropped quickly the first few weeks, averaging 2# a week, and by the end of October I was down 23# and 3 pants sizes. I had already been a member of the THM facebook page and found myself answering questions from some of the newer members, which eventually led to Pearl asking me to hop on board as an administrator/moderator for THM, and one of the co-administrators for the Older Wiser Ladies (OWL) portion of the THM official website. (soft opening of the website took place a few weeks ago, with the grand opening coming up shortly)

The losses slowed down considerably the closer to goal I got…averaging 1# a month or so until I reached 108 in May. I had already begun implementing some exercise soon after starting THM, using T Tapp, then eventually adding some other core workouts…planks, swimming, etc. Dealing with arthritis has made some of the workouts a bit of a challenge, but I I do what I can and don't stress about it.

And can I talk about the food and how much I LOVE it?
You like pizza? Me, too. BAM…pizza it is, THM style.
Bread? Me, too! Homemade, fermented sourdough, sprouted Trader Joe's, 100% rye, Joseph's pitas, Ezekiel sprouted English muffins….all make their way on my plate each and every week.
Pancakes and waffles? I eat them on a regular basis.
Apples, berries, peaches, etc? Yep. I eat those also.
Steak, buttered veggies, creamy bleu cheese on my salads? I eat 'em.
Oatmeal? Rice? Creamy refried beans? All on the menu here.
Wine? Yep. I have a glass of dry red or white pret' near every evening with supper.
Chocolate cravings? Me, too! And Skinny Chocolate can almost always be found in my freezer for just such a time.
My THM choices are as varied as my imagination.

I have no reason to "cheat" and so my own personal choice, thus far, is to not go off plan. That is not to say I won't someday have something that is not THM friendly, but so far I have made it through my 60th birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, potlucks, weddings, parties, open houses, etc…and managed to stay on plan, without feeling deprived and without going hungry. I still eat "real food", I just combine it a bit differently than I used to.

I have gone from a tight size 14 (stretchy) jean to a comfy size 2 that slip right over my hips and button easily and never have to get "un-buttoned" because of bloating or over indulging. From an x-large shirt to a small. From not even owning a belt to now owning and wearing one…with my shirt tucked in!

I thank God for Pearl and Serene and His leading me to THM … it has been a life changing year and there is no turning back. I am a THM "lifer"!

Whether you have 50 # to lose, or 150#…the journey begins with taking that first step. I took mine one year ago today. If you haven't already, why not jump on board the THM train? What have you got to lose?

Trim Healthy Mama … changing lives one meal at a time."

I'm waiting for NOW to issue a fatwa against the jihadists for this. Hey, Jane Fonda, where are you? Where are all the feminists...hiding under their beds? Patricia Ireland, Gloria Steinem...we need to hear from you. Surely you must have something to say about this outrage against women. Well, I suppose they're too busy complaining that some man, somewhere, right now, is opening a car door for a woman or helping her down the stairs. Stupid men...won't they ever learn? Opening car doors is serious stuff...forced bodily mutilation? Not so much.

DIVORCE AGREEMENT- -
WRITTEN BY YOUNG COLLEGE STUDENT
The person who wrote this is a college (law) student. Perhaps there is hope for us after all.

DIVORCE AGREEMENT

THIS IS SO INCREDIBLY WELL PUT AND I CAN HARDLY BELIEVE IT'S BY A YOUNG PERSON, A STUDENT!!! WHATEVER HE RUNS FOR, I'LL VOTE FOR HIM.

Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al: We have stuck together since the late 1950's for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course.

Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let's just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.

Here is a our separation agreement:

--Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.

--We don't like redistributive taxes so you can keep them.

--You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.
--Since you hate guns and war, we'll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military.

--We'll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and the coal mines, and you can go with wind, solar and biodiesel.

--You can keep Oprah, Michael Moore and Rosie O'Donnell. You are, however, responsible for finding a bio-diesel vehicle big enough to move all three of them.

--We'll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street.

--You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless, homeboys, hippies, druggies and illegal aliens.

--We'll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO's and rednecks.

--We'll keep Bill O ' Reilly, and Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood .

--You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we'll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.

--You can have the peaceniks and war protesters. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we'll help provide them security.

--We'll keep our Judeo-Christian values.

--You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill.

--We'll keep the SUV's, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Volt and Lea f you can find.

--You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors.

--We'll keep "The Battle Hymn of the Republic" and "The National Anthem."

--I'm sure you'll be happy to substitute "Imagine", "I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing", "Kum Ba Ya" or "We Are the World".

--We'll practice trickle-down economics and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot.

--Since it often so offends you, we'll keep our history, our name and our flag.

Would you agree to this? If so, please pass it along to other like-minded liberal and conservative patriots and if you do not agree, just hit delete. In the spirit of friendly parting, I'll bet you might think about which one of us will need whose help in 15 years.

Sincerely,

John J. Wall

Law Student and an American

P.S. Also, please take Ted Turner, Sean Penn, Martin & Charlie Sheen, Barbara Streisand, ( Hanoi ) Jane Fonda with you.

P.S.S. And you won't have to press 1 for English when you call our country.

Forward This Every Time You Get It ! Let's Keep This Going, Maybe Some Of It Will Start Sinking In!!
